On 24th March, 2025 the Department of Civil Engineering organised at Younus College of Engineering and Technology conducted an Invited Talk: “Building the Future: The Crucial Role of Bim in Modern Civil Engineering” in association with American Society of Civil Engineers Student Chapter and Civil Engineering Association. The resource person for the session was Dr. Kishore P., Treasurer, ASCE ISSR. A total of 27 students participated in this session from 10.00 am to 11.00 am. The faculty advisor, Ms. Raji R., also attended the session along with 3 faculty members.
The objective of the talk was to explore how BIM drives innovation in civil engineering through data integration, lifecycle management, and digital workflows, enabling smarter infrastructure development. He explained about about BIM, its principles, and its transformative impact on civil engineering by enhancing efficiency, collaboration, cost savings, and sustainability in construction projects. He also discussed how BIM is shaping the future of civil engineering, including digital twins, AI integration, and smart infrastructure. The session was very useful for the students.
